About Me
Meet Remi Turner—a devout storyteller with cutthroat observation skills who plans to become an inspiring voice of the Gen-Z generation. Turner's not nosy, she's a journalist.
Turner is a native Upstate New Yorker currently attending Syracuse University as a master's student in magazine, news & digital journalism.
When's she not in class, you can find her scouring the racks at the local thrift store or throwing a fresh slab of clay on the wheel.
Turner contributes to the NewsHouse and University Girl Magazine. She also has experience managing public relations for the University of Miami's student-run magazine, Distraction. Additionally, Turner did copy writing for Orange Umbrella, an on-campus ad agency.
Her advocacy pursuits include advising the Northeast regional chapter for It's On Us, a national organization that prevents sexual violence on college campuses.
Turner also practices activism within the LGBTQIA+ community. This semester, she is covering an enterprise reporting beat titled "Out and About," highlighting local queer voices.
Post graduation, Turner aims to work in journalism in the best city on Earth, New York City. Her lifelong dream is to land an editing position with Vogue, New York Magazine or Interview Magazine. If anyone reading this knows Anna, please put in a good word.
While swinging around the monkey bars of the concrete jungle, Turner also plans on pursuing freelance creative writing, including historical fiction novels and poetry chapbooks.
